She brings me a rainbow
whenever dark clouds appear.
Just the sound of her voice
takes away my fear.
She has a hero's strength
and can lend some needed steel,
yet she's as soft as a daisy,
and has a gift to calm and heal.
She often forgets her own needs
in her desire to comfort and please,
and she mends wounds and broken hearts
with a doctor's ease.
She saw me off each morning
and tucked me in safely each night,
ever working her hardest
to make my whole world bright.
Through example she taught me
what love is all about,
and she's the one person
that I couldn't live without.
Look and you'll find great wisdom
and kindness in her eyes,
and though I call her grandmother,
she's an angel in disguise.
